Terms & conditions
The ground rules for discovering your next favourite place with Palateo.
Launch waitlist
Joining the Palateo waitlist is free. It lets us send you launch updates you request and does not guarantee an invitation, a launch date, a reservation, a discount or access to every feature. You can request removal at palateo.com@gmail.com. No payment or app account is required.
At a glance
Palateo is a free, general-audience food-discovery service and is not directed at children. Younger users should use it with a parent or guardian’s knowledge and permission. Recommendations and venue details help you explore; verify current prices, opening hours and dietary suitability directly with the restaurant. The app does not take bookings or payments.
1. Your agreement
These terms cover your use of Palateo at palateo.in. Palateo is operated by Aayush Mittal in India. Contact address: 937, GIDC Makarpura. Email: palateo.com@gmail.com.
If you are under 18, use Palateo with a parent or guardian’s knowledge and permission. You must provide accurate information and follow these terms; a parent or guardian should review them with younger users where appropriate. When you affirmatively accept these terms during account registration or another acceptance step, you agree to follow them. If you do not agree, do not create or continue using an account.
Our privacy policy explains the information used to provide the service and how to make privacy requests. Agreement to these terms does not waive privacy rights or provide blanket consent for unrelated purposes.
2. What Palateo provides
Palateo helps you discover cafés and restaurants using your food preferences, budget, dietary choices and selected city. Current features include a taste test, suggestions, venue information, saved places and supported account activity. The current People section shows sample people rather than a live social directory.
The current service is free. Palateo does not currently process restaurant reservations, food orders, deposits, subscriptions or other payments. If you contact, book or buy from a restaurant or an external service, your transaction is with that provider. Any future paid Palateo feature will have its price and applicable conditions presented before you choose to purchase it.
3. Your account
Provide accurate account information, keep your email and phone number current, use a unique password and protect access to your account. Do not impersonate someone else or share access in a way that compromises another person's information. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
Persistent sign-in can retain session material on your device. Younger users should use shared-device and account features with a parent or guardian’s knowledge. Sign out on shared devices and use browser controls to remove local data when needed. We may ask you to verify ownership before assisting with account access or data requests; we will never ask for your password.
You can stop using Palateo at any time. Contact us from your account email to request account closure or deletion. Signing out alone does not delete the account. We handle information in accordance with the privacy policy and applicable retention duties.
4. Recommendations and venue details
Recommendations and match scores reflect available venue information and the preferences you provide. They are subjective suggestions, not a promise that you will enjoy a venue or that any restaurant meets a particular standard. Displayed ratings, prices, menus, availability, opening hours, dietary labels and closure status can change or be incomplete.
Confirm current details directly with the venue before travelling, booking or spending money. Price estimates do not establish a restaurant's final bill, taxes, fees or offers.
Food allergies and dietary needs: vegetarian, non-vegetarian and other labels do not guarantee ingredients, preparation practices or absence of cross-contact. Ask the restaurant about ingredients and suitability. Palateo is not a medical, nutrition or allergy-safety service.
Optional device location helps choose relevant places. You can choose a city manually instead. Directions are provided through external links; check the route and surroundings yourself.
5. Acceptable use
Use Palateo lawfully and respectfully. Do not:
- Access another person's account or data without permission, bypass access controls or misuse credentials.
- Introduce malicious code, attack the service, overload it, disrupt others or extract information in a way that circumvents security or infringes rights.
- Submit unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, deceptive or privacy-infringing content, including another person's sensitive information without lawful authority.
- Create deceptive accounts, manipulate ratings or activity, impersonate people or businesses, or use the service for spam.
- Use Palateo's branding to falsely imply our endorsement or a restaurant partnership.
Good-faith security reports are welcome at our contact address. Keep any investigation within systems and accounts you are authorised to access, avoid accessing other users' information and report issues privately.
6. Content and ownership
Palateo's original interface, branding and software belong to their respective owners. You may use the service for ordinary personal discovery. These terms do not transfer ownership of Palateo or grant rights in third-party venue names, logos, photographs, maps or other materials.
You retain rights in information and content you provide. You give Palateo permission to store, display to you and process that content only as needed to provide and protect the service, in accordance with the privacy policy. Do not submit material you do not have the right to provide.
Venue information may draw on public or third-party sources. Attribution displayed in the app and applicable third-party licences remain relevant; these terms do not grant permission to reproduce source material or imply endorsement by Google, a ratings platform or any restaurant. Report incorrect listings or intellectual-property concerns to our contact address with enough detail to identify the material.
7. External links and services
Restaurant directions, social profiles and other external links take you to services operated by other parties. Their own terms and privacy practices apply. We do not control their content, reliability or transactions. A listing or link does not by itself mean the business is affiliated with, verified by or sponsored by Palateo.
If a future placement is paid or sponsored, we will identify it as such. We do not guarantee the accuracy of offers or claims made by a linked provider.
8. Availability, changes and suspension
We aim to provide a useful, reliable service, but availability can be affected by maintenance, provider outages, device limitations or other events. Features and the venue catalogue may change. Where reasonably practical, we will give advance notice of a material service withdrawal and allow time to request your data.
We may restrict or suspend an account when reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these terms, protect people or systems, or comply with law. We will give a reason and an opportunity to resolve the issue where practical and lawful. Immediate action may be necessary for an active security threat or legal requirement. You can contact us to request a review.
Suspension does not remove your applicable privacy rights or entitle us to retain data indefinitely.
9. Responsibility and liability
We will exercise reasonable care in providing Palateo. Subject to applicable law, we do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free venue information or a particular outcome from recommendations. Restaurants are responsible for their own food, premises and transactions, and external providers are responsible for their own services.
To the extent the law permits, Palateo is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost business opportunities, that was not reasonably foreseeable when this agreement was made. This does not remove responsibility for loss directly caused by our breach of a duty owed to you where the law provides a remedy.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your non-waivable statutory rights, including applicable consumer and privacy rights, remain available. The service being free does not reduce those rights to a zero-value remedy.
10. Indian law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by Indian law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. If an issue arises, you can contact us so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us does not prevent you from seeking a remedy, require you to wait beyond a lawful deadline or shorten a legal limitation period.
Disputes may be brought before the courts, consumer commissions, regulators or other forums with jurisdiction under applicable law. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, an exclusive location that overrides statutory jurisdiction, or a waiver of available complaints or remedies.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful. We do not treat an invalid provision as permission to restrict a statutory right.
11. Changes to these terms
The date and version appear at the top of this page. We will notify you of material changes through the app or an appropriate account communication, and obtain affirmative agreement where required before applying new conditions to your account. Changes will not remove rights already accrued or retrospectively authorise an unrelated use of personal information. You can stop using the service and contact us about account closure if you do not accept revised terms.
